This is the first issue of the 72 half-page compositions designed and engraved by Jan Harrewijn in the style of his master Romeyn De Hooghe and the frontispiece by Jan van Vianen after Jan Goeree.
This 1698 Amsterdam edition is the first under the title Contes et nouvelles instead of Heptaméron.
